Not bad for a hole in a wall sandwich joint. Will come again if I have time in town..Good for commute a/o hungry on the hurry. Don't come here if you're looking for a five star quality taste or what not.

Absolutely TERRIBLE. Friends and I went and all got different sandwiches and we all feel terrible after. Having stomach issues and getting major hot flashes. The inside wasn't that clean at all.

I was tired. My meeting a mile from the Amtrak station ended early, leaving with a few hours to kill before catching my train. I lugged my suitcase all over Jack London Square and downtown Oakland before heading for the station. I needed to grab a meal for my four plus hour train trip but all of the open food joints I passed looked too fancy and hipster for me..then I found this place with the beautiful mural on the side. It beckoned to be. I complied. And I did not leave disappointed.
A man inside greeted me as my eyes adjusted to the dimmer light of the eatery. The menu high above my head had enough choices to make my eyes glaze over. I could not process...hot or cold sandwiches, seafood, burgers, hot dogs or sausage, salads and more. The man kindly tried to help me narrow my choices but my eyes could not read the board. So I went old-school and asked if he could make me grilled cheese on wheat with tomatoes. Something simple and easy to take on the train. He said of course and proceeded with starting my sandwich.
I turned my attention to beverages. To the right, several cold storage cases with an excellent selection of cold beverages awaited me. I chose my favorite ginger ale and my sandwich was done. Grilled to gooey toasty perfection, sliced diagonally and paper wrapped, it was simple, perfect and exactly what I needed. And the price was right too. I know work will bring me back this way and now I don't have to hunt for a place to find food. I will be coming back here to try something actually on the menu.

I'm glad my wife and I pick this please to eat after walking around to look for something to eat. Their customer service was fantastic.
When My wife and I walked into the restaurant, the owner/chef looked busy. I looked around to see what I want to eat and on their white board had a daily special. When I ask the man, he said its only on week days, that made me a little disappointed. I ended up getting the same thing my wife got. Which was a mushroom burger with bacon and a side of french fries. It took us a bit longer to order because we knew the owner/chef was busy.
Some of the tables a dirty and sticky. Wish they could have whip down some of the tables. If I was in the area again, I would come back to this restaurant. -

Anyone who is searching for quality and affordable breakfast and lunch plates without the wait in the Jack London Square area should visit this establishment. Bountiful hash browns, crispy bacon, fluffy pancakes. Lunch? Sandos, burgers, full plates then change daily. Aiit, don't ever pass up Ground Steak Wednesday's or Spaghetti Thursday's.
GILBERT ur a maestro of cuisine and always a friendly face.
directly across Amtrak station and off street parking. Another rarity for the area ..they have parking on the side of the restaurant.
Very attentive and always lettin u kno ur food will ne right out which they deliver to ur table
